Light box
Sat, 19 Apr 2008 22:32:56 PDT
I finally made that light box I said I was going to make. I found the directions here. I am going to use it for Ribbon Jar, but sampled today with some of those scrapbooking layouts that I've been whipping out. I still need to figure out everything. Basically what I am doing now is using the speedlight and flashing the top of the box and letting the light bounce. So I do get some glare. Plus I don't know if it's because I zoom in or what, but the layouts turn out a little bit warped. I
Enlightenment: You and Me and China make Three
Sat, 19 Apr 2008 22:45:21 PDT
I have been reading the book: The Writing on the Wall. Mr. Will Hutton is the author. The book is billed as a look at what makes China tick and what the west should do about it. I chose it on the strength of the reviews as I wanted to learn more about China in regard to our discussions concerning globalization. I also wanted to hear a voice not from the US. Mr. Hutton is very established in the economic world in England. Maybe he is their Mr. Krugman? You can read a summary regarding the subj

Supreme Court gives relief to commercial landlords
Sat, 19 Apr 2008 22:52:10 PDT
For decades, the Indian Government and the legal system has been lopsided in favour of tenants, with the Rent Control Act being one-sided to protect tenants. The Act has reduced property rights, not letting landlords get their property back when they need the property for their own use, and not letting them raise rents in accordance with annual inflation trends. The Rent Control Act has scared landlords so much that there are many property owners who cannot envisage letting out their cur
EUROPE MAY SCRAP GLOBAL WARMING TARGET - FEARS OF FOOD CRISIS MOUNT
Sat, 19 Apr 2008 22:53:51 PDT
The European Commission is backing away from its insistence on imposing a compulsory 10% quota of biofuels in all gasoline and diesel by 2020, a central plank of its program to lead the world in combating climate change. Amid a worsening global food crisis exacerbated, say experts and critics, by the race to divert food or feed crops into biomass for the manufacture of vehicle fuel, and inundated by a flood of expert advice criticizing the shift to renewable fuel, the commission appears to be
Differentiation of Instruction in the Classroom
Sat, 19 Apr 2008 22:54:08 PDT
This is an editorial exploration into the birth of the theory and practice of differentiated instuction. I opine that what is claimed to be addressed by this allegedly "new" thinking and pedagogical approach, is neither adequately addressed in most cases, nor new. What would be new is a long-term commitment to it, unswayed by trend, fed by data.

Sat, 19 Apr 2008 23:21:16 PDT

Sat, 19 Apr 2008 23:45:06 PDT
Until recently Hans Lodder thought that dislocating technology was something used in wars. But Gartner uses the term for IT technology that enables a completely different and better approach for business processes. Centrex Applications Meaningful and cost-effective applications for Centrex are increasing, especially as the carriers respond to heightened competitive pressure.
